The University of Western Australia is a respected institution of higher learning based in Perth, Australia. The university is one of the most highly regarded universities in both the nation and the world. The University of Western Australia regularly appears in both national and international listings for the best colleges and universities.

The Western Australia-based university is the second oldest degree granting institution in that state. It was created in 1911 by an act of the Australia Parliament and then made successful through a series of large donations to the university, either in land or money. The motto of the university, “Seek Wisdom” is clearly more than just a phrase to them—they have played host to nearly 100 student who became Rhodes Scholars as well as a Nobel Prize winner, Barry Marshall.

The University of Western Australia’s Business School is just as prestigious and successful as the university as a whole, perhaps more so. The Business School is generally considered to be amongst the best in the country. Students can choose between two degree programs—the Bachlor’s of Commerce or the Bachelor’s of Economics. Both degrees require that the student declare a major. The majors for those two degrees include Human Resource Management, Accounting, Management, Economics, and Employment Relations. Students regularly choose to double, or even triple, major.
